Who you are dealing with
La Font and La Font Student are made and sold by Project TFB LLC (“we”, “us”), a limited liability company founded by Saul Lowery. When you use La Font Student or buy a Student Pass, your agreement is with Project TFB LLC. You can reach us at saul@projecttfb.com.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle handles payments, invoices and refunds; we answer questions about the app.
Agreeing to these terms
By downloading or using La Font Student, or by buying a Student Pass, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If you keep using it after we change these terms, you agree to the changed terms.
What La Font Student is
La Font Student is a Mac app that coaches you through typography work in Adobe InDesign: a Guide that gives the next steps, a Mentor that explains the reasons, document checks against an assignment brief, a Color Lab and a glyph studio. Its answers come from an AI model and can be wrong. Check important details against your brief and your instructor. You are responsible for your own coursework and for following your school’s rules on academic honesty.
Using it fairly
You may not use La Font to break the law, to commit fraud or send spam, to infringe anyone’s intellectual property, or to interfere with the security of La Font or the services it relies on. You may not share, resell or publish the access that comes with your Student Pass, or try to get around its limits.
Who owns what
We own La Font, its software, its text and its design. Your work stays yours: your documents, your conversations and anything you make with the app belong to you. A font you export from the glyph studio that starts from an existing typeface follows that typeface’s license, which the app shows you.
No guarantee of uninterrupted service
We work to keep La Font running well, but we do not promise it will always be available or free of errors. The AI service behind the Guide and the Mentor is run by others and may be slow, unavailable or change.
Payments and subscriptions
The Student Pass is a subscription sold through Paddle under Paddle’s buyer terms. The semester pass costs $29 and renews every four months; the monthly pass costs $9.99 and renews every month. Each renews until you cancel. Prices are in US dollars, and Paddle adds sales tax or VAT where it applies. You can cancel anytime from the Student Pass panel in the app; you keep the pass until the end of the period you paid for and are not charged again. If we change the price, we tell you before your next renewal. Refunds follow our refund policy.
Suspending or ending access
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, if a payment fails and is not resolved, or if your use puts La Font, its users or its services at risk of fraud or a security problem.
Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, La Font is provided as it is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for grades, deadlines or coursework affected by an answer from the app. Our total liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be limited.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top says when they last changed.
